Dorfmarke is the electronic music alter ego of Marcus Dindorf from Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
The project focuses on deep, groove-oriented electronic sound between Deep Tech House, Deep Minimal, Microhouse, Tech House, Electronica, and leftfield-oriented club music: hypnotic, reduced grooves, warm deep basslines, subtle synth motifs, and atmospheric texture.
Marcus has been connected to electronic music since his youth through DJing, synthesizers, sampling, MIDI sequencing, and home recording. The serious and continuous Dorfmarke phase began around 2009, leading to demos, sketches, experiments, and first releases around 2013.
Dorfmarke is produced through a hybrid studio approach that combines Ableton Live experience with hardware-based work on drum machines, sequencers, samplers, and synthesizers. The focus is groove, timing, sound design, and club-ready long-form development rather than spectacular drops.
Dorfmarke debuted with the 'Alone In The Dark' EP, released on 26/07/2013 via dPole Records, Marcus' digital boutique label founded to release music independently and keep aesthetic decisions close to the source.
The most intensive creative Dorfmarke period ran from roughly 2009 to the end of 2019. Today the project is reconnecting with that musical thread from a more mature perspective, carrying earlier production, studio, and label experience into future work.
Dorfmarke stands for introspective, underground-oriented club music for intimate dancefloors and late headphone sessions.
